A star is born
Mr. Mishra, though a senior administrative officer, but he is an outstanding and prolific writer and poet and regarded as one of the best in modern era of literature both in english and vernacular (Odia). The prolificity par excellence has been profoundly reflected in all his creations. The pledge to portray, paint and pen the conditions of the impecunious and problem-stricken people to reverberate in the surroundings with a strong voice to ameliorate and witness the wane in their sufferings, has made him a great poet of national and international repute. His pen has been very strong to depict the feelings of the poor and has raised a voice to have development both distributive and inclusive (like the view of Amartya Sen) with a paradigmatic shift. A robust optimist his writings smack of positivity with profound propensity.

Awards

Many awards and laurels have adorned his crown. The appreciation of his book feelings (English) by Dr. Abdul Kalam, the then President of India was like a diamond in the crown. The famous and best poet of modern era Odia literature Padmashree Sachchi Routray acknoledged him ‘as a powerful voice’ and stated that his book Shriyoddha is one of the best creations in Odia literature.

The french translation of his book ‘The Unsung Verses’ namely Les Poesies Meconnues was in display in the French stall in the world book fair in Delhi in 2003 and was a star attraction.

Mr. Mishra is a verse-maker and writer of national and international repute. His writing mirror his feelings, cognitive perception of happenings around as well as predicaments of the people in distress.

Two of his books have been translated into Hindi by vaniprakashan publishers, Delhi namely Shriyoddha and Mrigatrishna ki Chhaya.

His creative ingenuity has earned him laurels and appreciation for his dexterity to manifest the unmanifest and express the in expressible.
