Proclaimed as one of the best poets of modern era both in vernacular field and english poetic circle, his writings and poems reflect and project human sufferings and pretensions with subtle dexterity and ingenious ingenuity so as to imbue the literary ambiance with a touch of humane predilections. His book ‘The Unsung Verses’ has been translated into French and Spanish languages.

Marvellous, majestic and maverick, Mr. Mishra is a singer, crooning both in Odia and Hindi. A devotional CD to start with (ya Devi Sarva Bhuteshu), he has the first patriotic and ghazal CDs (in Odia) to his credit. (Maa mo Janmabhumi and Ghazal Sandhya). All the lyrics of the CDs are composed by him which have got the best rendition with his voice. The other two CDs are Bhuli huena (Odia) and Return to Romanticism (Hindi). Most of the CDs have been made by T-series Super Cassettes.

The craze to go high above, to discover the futility of mundane things like self ego and pride and pretensions allured him to go for hobby pilottraining at Bhubaneswar, Aviation Academy during 1997-1998. However paucity of time, and official pressure did not allow him to complete the training.
